Upon entering the La Madeleine Country French Café I was politely greeted with “Bonjour Madame”. The atmosphere and décor reminded me of France. It was certainly a lovely way to start my day!

The lobby is strikingly beautiful. I had the same reaction upon entering the Hilton McLean as I did when entering the Hilton London Heathrow Airport Terminal 5. Both made an amazing first impression as well as providing excellent service during our stay!

Louis Vuitton Carryall Weekend Bag

While running errands recently in New York City, I found myself standing in front of a Louis Vuitton store admiring the items in the display window. After a few minutes, I suddenly remembered that I had an appointment in less than an hour. During the cab ride to my appointment, I could not stop thinking about the Louis Vuitton travel bags. After my appointment I hailed a cab and headed back across town. As we traveled on the FDR Drive, I debated whether or not I should return to the Louis Vuitton store. I reminded myself that I already had beautiful weekend bags in my closet and didn’t need another one. I realized that this was not a need but a want.

A few short hours after I first found myself standing in front of the window display, I had actually made my way inside the store. The manager of the store and I began a brief conversation. I mentioned that I had been admiring the travel bags. She took out a few bags from the display case to show me. I knew at that moment that I was not going to leave the store empty handed. I eventually decided on the Carryall weekend bag. I did in fact leave the store empty handed because of the personalization, I had requested. But after dinner, I went back to the Louis Vuitton store for the third and final time that day to pick up my personalized weekend bag. I love it!

The National Harbor is a beautiful waterfront area within Prince George’s County, Maryland situated along the shores of the Potomac River approximately 30 minutes from downtown Washington, DC and across the river from Alexandria, Virginia. Within the National Harbor are shops, restaurants (some with waterfront view dining), marina and seasonal attractions, all things that I love which made our stay truly enjoyable.

I absolutely love candy! Wherever I travel in the world I’m always in search of different types of candy. A fond travel memory of mind is that of purchasing fruit flavored jellied candy in an open air market in Málaga, Spain. A little closer to home, located in the Upper East Side of New York City is Dylan’s Candy Bar.

Travel Scrapbook

I have always been a dreamer. Some would say that I live in my own little dream world. Whether or not that’s true is debatable but one thing that is certain is that I have always been fascinated by other cultures. I believe this fascination began in my secondary school French class. I had an amazing teacher who would often discuss what it was like growing up in France. I was mesmerized by her enchanting stories!

Years later, I began creating a scrapbook of places I had visited but more importantly of places that I wanted to visit. Of course France was on the top of my list but my travel wish list also included many countries and states within the United States. I have been very fortunate to have been able to visit many of the locales within my ever growing travel wish list. I’ve also included within my travel scrapbook information on local customs and phrases. I have always treated visiting other countries with the same respect as if I were visiting someone’s home which has served me well in my travels!
