Crystal Cave (Bermuda)

Atlantic Travel, Scenic Views, Vacation Ideas

Crystal Cave

Crystal Cave is a subterranean cavern located in the Hamilton Parish on the island of Bermuda. Bermuda is a British overseas territory located in the North Atlantic Ocean. Bermuda does not allow tourists to rent cars within the island so we arrived at Crystal Cave by way of public transportation (bus). The bus did not stop directly in front of Crystal Cave as a result we had to walk in what appeared to be a residential area before arriving at Crystal Cave.

After purchasing tickets our tour guide took us down into the cave. Before we began our tour I noticed people coming up from the cave completely out of breath. I overheard someone say that coming back up the stairs was exhausting. The walk down the stairs to the cave was okay but I wondered how I would react during the climb back up. The sight of crystal stalactites and stalagmites was amazing. Walking across the pontoon bridge that spans over a subterranean lake was the highlight of this adventure for me. FYI – During the climb back up I made it a point to take it easy as a result it was not as bad as I thought it would be.
