Last week, we at Scenic Runway attended a Media Tasting Event at the Corner Bakery Caf\u00c3\u00a9 in Arlington, Virginia, a short distance from Washington, DC for their new “Grilled Flats” menu. The decision to have the event in their outdoor sitting area on a beautiful summer morning was an excellent idea. The casual relaxed environment was a great place to enjoy the new UnFlat Menu. Prior to the event, I had been a guest at several Corner Bakery Caf\u00c3\u00a9 locations in Washington, DC and downtown Chicago. On each occasion in addition to the delicious food, the staff has always been very welcoming. It’s the feeling you get when someone welcomes you into their home. <\/p>\n

All Grilled Flats Flavors are 330 Calories or Under<\/font><\/strong><\/center><\/p><\/div><\/center><\/p>\n

Starting on June 30th, the Corner Bakery Caf\u00c3\u00a9 will offer “Grilled Flats”!<\/font><\/strong><\/center> <\/p>\n

Southwest Chicken<\/font><\/strong> with all-natural grilled chicken, zesty slaw, corn and tomato salsa, house-pickled jalape\u00c3\u00b1os and avocado ranch dressing (280 calories)
\nChicken Caesar<\/font><\/strong> with all-natural grilled chicken, romaine, bruschetta tomatoes, Parmesan cheese and Caesar dressing (330 calories)
\nCaprese<\/font><\/strong> with fresh mozzarella, bruschetta tomatoes, arugula and Parmesan cheese (310 calories)
\nBBQ Pork<\/font><\/strong> with pulled barbecue pork, tangy slaw, house-pickled red onions and avocado ranch dressing (320 calories)<\/p>\n

The Corner Bakery Caf\u00c3\u00a9 was founded in 1991 and now has restaurants in 21 states and Washington, D.C. Chef Ric Scicchitano, Executive Vice President, Food & Supply Chain was on the Corner Bakery’s first culinary team. He provided the attendees with a cooking demonstration of the Grilled Flats, a portion of which we recorded (see below). At the end of the event there was a drawing to win a grill. The same grill Chef Scicchitano used during his cooking demonstration. Sadly, we did not win the grill but congratulations to the winner!<\/p>\n
