Scenic Runway

Within the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History & Culture is the Sweet Home Café. The café has four stations, each station represents regional traditional African American food. The regions include the South, the Creole Coast, the Northern States and the Western States.

Located within City Park in New Orleans, Morning Call Coffee Stand has been serving café au lait and beignets (aka French market donuts) since 1870 to residents of New Orleans and visitors!

One tradition within New Orleans is the Café Du Monde, established in 1862 within the French Market. The Café Du Monde is best known for its coffee and beignets (French doughnuts covered in powdered sugar)! Below are pictures of my attempt to re-create beignets at home!
