The Oceanographic Museum (Monaco)

Monaco located on the Mediterranean coast, Côte d’Azur (French Riviera) is a magical place. Its beauty is indescribable along with its luxury and glamour known worldwide. Amidst this fairytale land is Le Musée Océanographique (The Oceanographic Museum), a museum of marine sciences. Founded in 1910, it is host to exhibitions and collections of sea fauna some stuffed and in skeletal form. The museum also contains an aquarium consisting of a wide variety of marine life.

Submarine

The world famous underwater explorer Jacques-Yves Cousteau was the director of Le Musée Océanographique for many years. Captain Cousteau (le Commandant Cousteau) was known to many for his many television documentaries and his extraordinary contributions to the exploration of underwater life. The Oceanographic Museum, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, is filled with 100 years of marine life history.
