Our Visit to Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History & Culture
During our visit to the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History & Culture we were overwhelmed with its rich history. We started our tour on the lower level which chronicled slavery, reconstruction and the injustices suffered by African Americans in America. Subsequent levels featured advancements and contributions made by African Americans in the United States.

Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture
To commemorate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Day, we will visit the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington, DC. The Smithsonian’s newest museum is filled with the history and contributions of African Americans in the United States. The museum’s unique bronze exterior is absolutely beautiful! Details of our visit will be featured in upcoming post.
Crystal Cave (Bermuda)
After purchasing tickets our tour guide took us down into the cave. Before we began our tour I noticed people coming up from the cave completely out of breath. I overheard someone say that coming back up the stairs was exhausting. The walk down the stairs to the cave was okay but I wondered how I would react during the climb back up. The sight of crystal stalactites and stalagmites was amazing. Walking across the pontoon bridge that spans over a subterranean lake was the highlight of this adventure for me. FYI – During the climb back up I made it a point to take it easy as a result it was not as bad as I thought it would be.
