When traveling I love trying local delicacies! La Grande Epicerie de Paris located in the 7th arrondissement, across from Le Bon Marché department store, in Paris is an amazing grocery store with items from France and around the world.
I found myself going from aisle to aisle selecting items from various parts of the world. From teas, french macarons, candy, baguettes, containers, etc. I seriously considered purchasing a new suitcase in order to bring back more items from this absolutely amazing grocery store. But I contained myself and only purchased a tote for clothing which allowed me to pack more items from La Grande Epicerie de Paris in my suitcase.
La Grande Epicerie de Paris will be on the top of my to do list whenever I am in Paris!
Roosevelt Island is an island in the East River of New York City and is part of the Borough of Manhattan (New York County). Roosevelt Island is located under the Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge but is not directly accessible from the bridge. The Roosevelt Island Tramway opened in May 1976 to provide access to and from Midtown Manhattan, the tram reaches a height of 250 feet above the East River. The tramway was originally developed as a temporary mode of transit until the completion of the Island’s subway link. But due to its popularity by locals and tourists as well as becoming a necessary mode of transportation, the Roosevelt Island aerial tramway remained.
The question “What are your most memorable travel moments?” arises often. I find that most people expect me to say something like viewing the Eiffel Tower for the first time! While that was certainly a memorable moment but for me the most memorable moments have allowed me to slow down to enjoy the beauty of my surroundings. I have been fortunate to experience this on many occasions while traveling. A few of my most memorable travel moments are that of dancing on the top level of a cruise ship on an absolutely beautiful evening in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea, walking in the rain along the Seine River in Paris, enjoying a leisurely lunch at an outdoor cafe in South Beach Miami, attending a early morning church service in Cadiz Spain as well as watching the sunset on the beach in Hawaii are some of my special travel moments. All have filled me with gratitude while allowing me to enjoy the beauty of the moment. Travel energizes me, brings me clarity but most of all travel brings me back to me.
These are the types of travel memories that will linger with me for a lifetime!
Travel is adventurous but it can also be hectic. As a result it is always a good idea to reduce the stress level as much as possible wherever you can. With airlines charging fees to check in luggage, I recently had to pay $50.00 for a checked bag that was over the limit by just a few pounds.
While we all would like to save money, attempting to store oversize luggage in overhead compartments not only delays the boarding and departing process it is also unfair to other passengers who want to store the proper size luggage. In order to avoid some of the stress at the airport some passengers are shipping their luggage ahead of their departure to their hotels.
Reducing the amount of clothing that you pack is also something to consider. Packing versatile clothing stretches your clothing options when traveling. It is also wise to consider packing essentials that are capable of doing double duty or purchasing items on your arrival is another option to consider. Preparation helps to reduce the stresses of travel so you can focus in on the adventure ahead.
The views from the sky of Seattle are beautiful!
There are many ways to explore a new city. One way is by taking a tour bus!
Palm Springs is a mix of sophistication and charm, located in the Coachella Valley in Southern California surrounded by mountains. A resort city well known for mid-century modern architecture. Downtown Palm Springs (Palm Canyon Drive) is filled with restaurants, boutiques and art which makes for an enjoyable experience.
Palm Springs in the summer is extremely hot and I tried to pack accordingly. I received a memorable compliment from a well dressed gentleman who said that I “looked so Palm Springs”.
