The Oceanographic Museum, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, is filled with 100 years of marine life history.

LA Shopping Attractions

8 August, 2011 (06:18) | North America, Shopping on Travel, Vacation Ideas

The state of California is where I started my communications career. As a result it is always very special for me to return. I absolutely love the Los Angeles County area which is known worldwide for luxury, glamour and amazing shopping. The Grove in LA, Old Town in Pasadena, Rodeo Drive and The Beverly Center in Beverly Hills are some of my favorite places to shop and dine whenever I am in the Los Angeles area. The Farmers Market near the CBS studios is also a place that I try to visit whenever I’m in town. I am often asked what is my favorite city in California. Having previously lived in the Los Angeles area for years I have fond memories of many cities but I love the luxurious feel of Beverly Hills as well as its close proximity to the Santa Monica Pier and Westwood Village.

During my last visit to Beverly Hills my family and I stayed at the Residence Inn Beverly Hills which provided us with a feeling of being at home. We were centrally located just a few blocks away from Rodeo Drive. It is not unusual to see celebrities out shopping and/or having lunch in Beverly Hills. There are so many amazing attractions in the Los Angeles area but the Pacific Ocean is a must see whenever I am in California.

Fashion Week

Fashion Week

Fashion week is an amazing time anxiously anticipated by fashionistas, celebrities and athletes alike. Everyone is excited to see what the new fashion trends will be. Fashion weeks are held in various cities around the world but of course the most prominent ones are held in New York, London, Milan and Paris. Designers get a chance to showcase their collections and we get a chance to see what amazing fashion trends are in store for the upcoming season. I look forward to the Giorgio Armani show each season. I am a huge fan of his work. An Armani suit represents style.

Food Travels

Swedish Meatballs

When traveling I always make an attempt to try food from that specific region or country. Whenever I’m in France our morning routine is to head out early to pick up fresh croissants. On the mornings I ran a little late getting dressed my husband would make the trip to the local bakery alone. The taste of freshly baked croissants is certainly worth standing in line for. I absolutely love southern food, whenever I travel to the southern region within the United States I can not resist having grits for breakfast. A typical southern dinner for me is fried chicken and/or barbequed spare ribs, collard greens, corn bread and a glass of sweet tea. I have fond memories of Italy, enjoying a delicious pasta meal with wine at an outdoor café in Florence along with enjoying gelato on the streets of Rome. While in Sweden there was no question that I had to try an authentic meal of Swedish Meatballs.

The world offers an abundance of authentic delicacies when traveling.

San Francisco Attractions

13 June, 2011 (05:55) | North America

San Francisco Bay

San Francisco located in the northern portion of the state of California is a fascinating city filled with tourist attractions and hills. Below you will find a few of the attractions we visited during our last visit to this amazing city.

1. Fisherman’s Wharf
2. Cruise around Alcatraz
3. The breathtaking view of the Golden Gate Bridge
4. The Historic Ghirardelli Square (amazing chocolate)
5. Lombard Street (known for its twists and turns)
6. San Francisco’s famed cable cars
7. Golden Gate Park to observe the Conservatory of Flowers, Japanese Tea Garden and Windmills

Union Square comes to mind when I think of shopping in San Francisco. Union Square and the surrounding area have a cosmopolitan atmosphere with its upscale boutiques, department stores and art galleries. The Union Square area is also known for its theater district and dining options.

Bayside Marketplace (Miami, Florida)

Bayside Marketplace

Bayside located on Biscayne Blvd in Miami near the American Airlines arena is a must see attraction for both locals and tourists. Bayside is a marketplace filled with shops, restaurants, sightseeing tours and live entertainment. Its location on the Biscayne Bay and surrounding Bayfront Park near the cruise ships is ideal. Upon our arrival at Bayside we immediately took in the view of the bay. Later we decided to have lunch at the Hard Rock Café located in the South Pavilion of Bayside.

Hard Rock Cafe Miami

Without consciously thinking about it, we always tend to visit Hard Rock Cafés in many locations around the world such as Germany, Montreal, Chicago, Bahamas, Stockholm, Niagara Falls, Atlantic City and New York to name a few.

The festive and relaxed atmosphere of Bayside was very appealing to me. Nothing is more relaxing for me than enjoying a meal at an outdoor café with a water view. Our stay in Miami was for a week; as a result I made it a point of visiting the Bayside Marketplace for lunch and dinner at various restaurants. Each visit with its live entertainment brought with it a different vibe of downtown Miami.

A Disneyland Celebration

Disneyland

As everyone in the world knows Disneyland is an absolutely magical place for people of all ages. As a result, when trying to decide on a place to celebrate my twin sons first birthday for us there was only one choice but Disneyland. The staff at Disneyland was extremely helpful in the planning of this very special day for us. It was truly a magical day with the Disney characters and staff joining us in celebrating our twin sons birthday. Since that time we have celebrated several more special occasions at Disney parks. Time passes but the memories will last a lifetime. The Disney theme parks around the world have created many magical experiences for us over the years.

Buckingham Palace

25 April, 2011 (04:49) | Vacation Ideas

The gardens surrounding Buckingham Palace are absolutely beautiful. It’s filled with vibrant flowers of various sizes which when combined create a magical atmosphere. The area surrounding Buckingham Palace is pedestrian friendly. I was fascinated with the beauty of the white marble of the Victoria Memorial sculpture situated in front of Buckingham Palace. The street lights in the shape of a crown added to this unique experience. There is a relaxing and fun atmosphere at Green Park and St. James’s Park two of the Royal Parks of London. Visiting the gardens surrounding Buckingham Palace is must see on your visit to London.
